Overview
Norway's charter fleet is smaller than the Mediterranean's, concentrated in two regions. Bergen serves the western fjords, while Svolvær and Tromsø are the gateways to Lofoten and the Arctic north. Book early — availability is limited.
Bergen & the western fjords
Bergen is the natural base for the famous fjords — Nærøyfjord, Geirangerfjord, and the Hardangerfjord. The city has good provisioning, transport links, and a well-equipped marina, making it the easiest starting point for first-time Norway sailors.

Svolvær & Lofoten
Svolvær, the main town in Lofoten, is the base for exploring the archipelago's dramatic peaks and bays. It's more remote, with a smaller fleet, but the scenery is unmatched. The midnight sun allows round-the-clock cruising in June and July.
Tromsø & the Arctic
Tromsø, well above the Arctic Circle, is the launch point for expedition-style cruising in the far north. Facilities are good for the latitude, and it's also the gateway to combined sailing-and-northern-lights trips in shoulder season.
