Overview
Starting from Lavrion (Athens), this route visits Kea, Syros, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, and Santorini. Expect strong meltemi winds in July and August; consider May, June, or September for more relaxed conditions.

Day by day
Day 1 — Athens to Kea (25nm): An easy first day across the Saronic Gulf. Day 2 — Kea to Syros (45nm): Leave early — the longest passage of the route. Syros is the Cyclades capital, a magnificent neoclassical town. Day 3 — Syros to Mykonos (25nm): Easy morning sail. Anchor in Ornos bay. Day 4 — Mykonos to Naxos (35nm): Classic Cyclades day sail. Day 5 — Naxos to Paros (10nm): Short hop — use the extra time exploring. Day 6 — Paros to Santorini (50nm): Arrive at the caldera as the sun sets. Day 7: Either overnight passage back to Athens or arrange a one-way charter.

Key anchorages
Ornos bay (Mykonos), Ormos Pisses (Kea), Livadi (Serifos), Ormos Athinios (Santorini). Arrive before noon in July and August to secure an anchorage.
