Overview
Turkey's Aegean and Mediterranean coasts offer exceptional sailing that combines Greek-quality scenery with lower prices, richer history, and arguably even better food. The region known as the Turquoise Coast stretches from Bodrum in the north to Antalya in the east.

Best sailing areas
The Gulf of Gökova, south of Bodrum, is one of the most beautiful sailing areas in the world. The Bozburun Peninsula offers the most secluded anchorages on the Turkish coast. Fethiye Bay and its Twelve Islands circuit is an essential highlight.
Best anchorages
Cleopatra's Island (Sedir Adası) — famous for its Roman-era sand. English Harbour, Göcek — sheltered marina town surrounded by islands. Butterfly Valley — accessible only by sea. Ölüdeniz lagoon — one of the most photographed bays in the Mediterranean.
Gulet charters
Turkey is the home of the gulet — a traditional wooden motorsailer. A 10-cabin gulet for 20 guests might cost $16,500–$27,500 per week all-inclusive. Perfect for groups and families.
Best time to go
May and October are ideal — excellent weather, lower prices, significantly fewer boats. The Turkish coast enjoys one of the Mediterranean's longest seasons: April through November.
