Marina & fees
Malta keeps admin simple: no cruising tax, and marina fees around €45/day for a mid-size yacht. Most charters base at Kalkara or Grand Harbour. The star anchorage — Comino's famous Blue Lagoon — is free to anchor in, though it gets busy midday, so overnighting there is the move. A refundable security deposit (€1,000–5,000, or deposit insurance from ~€100) applies as everywhere.
Where to save
Because distances are so short, fuel is a non-issue and you can anchor most nights rather than pay for berths. Sail the May–June or September shoulders for lower rates and thinner crowds at the Blue Lagoon. A monohull saves meaningfully for smaller groups. Our cost calculator lets you model it.
