Spain sailing season at a glance
The Balearic Islands — Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera — have one of the Mediterranean's longer seasons, running April through October with up to 300 days of sunshine a year. July and August are the hot, busy peak; the shoulder months either side offer better wind, thinner crowds and lower prices.

Weather & wind
The Balearics have a classic Mediterranean summer climate — hot, dry and sunny, with generally light-to-moderate winds that make for relaxed sailing, occasionally punctuated by stronger northerly gusts. The sea is warm from June through September. Base yourself in Palma de Mallorca and you can circumnavigate Mallorca in a week or strike out to Ibiza and Formentera for the famous beaches and nightlife.
Crowds & value
July and August bring the crowds — Ibiza's club scene and the celebrated beaches of Formentera draw huge numbers, and marina berths get pricey and scarce. The shoulder months (May–June, September) are the connoisseur's choice: warm enough, better wind, easier berths, and noticeably lower rates. Most bases close from around November to February.
