The marina factor
Marina fees are the big Balearic variable. A peak-season berth in Ibiza or a glamorous Mallorca port can cost several times a quiet Menorcan harbour, and rates jump sharply from June to September. There's no national cruising tax, but marine-park permits apply at Cabrera and eco-mooring fees around Formentera's protected seagrass zones. Anchoring in the calas, where permitted, costs nothing.
Where to save
Anchor in the calas rather than berthing every night — the coves are the whole appeal and mostly free where allowed. Favour Mallorca and Menorca over glamorous, pricey Ibiza if budget matters.
